SHOM (Service hydrographique et océanographique de la Marine) produced multiple 2025 “état de connaissance initiale” syntheses and related survey analyses for the Golfe de Gascogne offshore wind zone (Golfe de Gascogne Sud / AO10 Sud-Atlantique). The project page lists SHOM outputs spanning oceanographic and hydrographic knowledge building, including separate syntheses for tide (marée), currents (courants) and swell (houle), evidencing metocean assessment of key physical drivers relevant to site selection, engineering assumptions and marine operations planning. The same set of studies also includes hydrographic/hydrography-related deliverables such as bathymetry and hydrology syntheses, as well as an “éléments anthropiques” synthesis to support understanding of seabed and water-column characteristics. These publications indicate SHOM’s role in geophysical characterisation of the area through compilation and analysis of baseline datasets (e.g., seafloor morphology and water properties). In addition, SHOM is identified as author of geoscience-focused studies on the nature of the soil and subsoil, including a sedimentology synthesis and a report analysing morpho-sedimentary surveys (“levés morpho-sédimentaires”). Together, these deliverables support early-stage geotechnical understanding of seabed sediments and morphodynamics for the AO10 zone prior to subsequent detailed investigation campaigns.
