In March 2022, a ministerial decision by the French government selected several maritime zones for floating offshore wind development on the Mediterranean façade, including the area off the Golfe de Fos-sur-Mer where two floating wind farms are planned: the 250 MW AO6 project and its 500 MW AO9 extension Golfe de Fos 2, together forming the Golfe de Fos 1 & 2 cluster.
