Offshore environmental baseline measurement campaigns for the initial state of the environment in the Golfe de Fos area are scheduled to be completed by December 2025 for the Golfe de Fos 2 floating wind project. These State-led surveys run from October 2023 to December 2025 and cover a wide range of environmental parameters: sampling of water and sediment quality; sampling and video recordings using a towed camera and/or remotely operated vehicle (ROV) over benthic habitats; scientific fishing operations; underwater noise recording; visual and boat-based observations of seabirds and marine mammals; and telemetry tracking of birds. The completion of these multi-year “campagnes de mesures en mer pour l’état initial de l’environnement” will provide the initial environmental state data required for project impact assessments and permitting of the Golfe de Fos 2 wind farm.
