State-led offshore site investigation campaigns in the Golfe de Fos area, supporting future floating wind projects including Golfe de Fos 2, included combined geophysical, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and geotechnical surveys. These campaigns were carried out between December 2022 and July 2023. The timeline given for these activities indicates that by July 2023 the geotechnical survey component had been completed, providing detailed information on seabed and subsoil conditions needed to design foundations and anchoring systems for the planned floating wind farm. The work formed part of a broader programme of technical and environmental knowledge-building for Mediterranean offshore wind undertaken by the French state prior to and alongside competitive tenders.
