As part of the knowledge-gathering studies for the floating offshore wind development in the Golfe de Fos area, geophysical survey campaigns, combined with unexploded ordnance (UXO) investigations and geotechnical surveys, were carried out between December 2022 and July 2023. These campaigns marked the start of detailed seabed and subsoil characterisation to support projects including the Golfe de Fos 2 floating wind farm. The work focused on mapping seabed morphology and sediments and identifying any UXO, providing essential input for subsequent technical design, layout optimisation, and environmental assessment of the planned offshore wind installations in the Mediterranean facade off the Golfe de Fos.
