On 31 July 2013, the BSH issued the final SeeAnlV Änderung (amendment) to the Gode Wind 1 Genehmigung, reducing the consented layout from 80 turbines (400 MW) to 55 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 turbines (440 MW total nominal capacity) on monopile foundations. Dong Energy (now Ørsted), which had acquired the project from PNE Wind in August 2012, applied for this final amendment on 9 November 2012 after switching the turbine selection from the originally contracted Senvion 6.2M126 (54 turbines, 6.15 MW, signed March 2012) to gearless Siemens SWT-6.0 6 MW direct-drive units in November 2013. The amendment locked in the as-built configuration that entered operation in 2017.
