Fondation OPEN-C reports that a major manufacturing and delivery milestone for the France-Atlantique floating wind demonstrator was reached in December 2024, when the components of the 5 MW floating wind turbine arrived at the Port of Brest. The shipment to the Marine Renewable Energy terminal included the main elements of the unit, notably the turbine, nacelle, hub and blades. These components will later be mounted on Eolink’s steel floater and associated superstructure as part of the pre-commercial demonstrator to be installed at the SEM-REV test site. The arrival of these key turbine components at Brest is described as a key milestone in the construction phase of the France-Atlantique project.
