On 3 October 2022, ADEME (Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maitrise de l'Energie) awarded EUR 14.9 million in non-dilutive grant funding to the EOLINK-VALOREM-Ecole Centrale de Nantes consortium through the French government's France 2030 investment programme to support deployment of the 5 MW France-Atlantique pre-commercial floating wind turbine demonstrator at the SEM-REV test site off Le Croisic, Loire-Atlantique. The award substantially de-risks the demonstrator's ~EUR 50 million total programme cost and represents the principal capital-support milestone for the project (equivalent in function to FID for a commercial-scale wind farm). Through this support, France 2030 backed the demonstration of EOLINK's pyramidal 4-mast steel-floater architecture and the maturation of a French floating offshore wind supply chain, with VALOREM as turbine retrofit and O&M lead and Centrale Nantes / Open-C Foundation providing the SEM-REV test berth and infrastructure.
