Wenex Equipements supported completion of cabling infrastructure works for the 2MW Floatgen floating offshore wind demonstrator offshore France, working alongside Hydro Group under a contract led by Entreprise Travaux Publics de l’Ouest. Wenex Equipements acted as a subcontractor to deliver cabling support work associated with the project’s subsea electrical connection scope at the SEM-REV offshore test site, located about 19 km from Le Croisic on the French Atlantic coast. The scope described included provision of cable-related interface hardware used to enable robust and reliable subsea connections. The project team implemented a connector solution enabling the device cable to be connected to the export cable and allowing subsea three-phase electrical cables to be mated without compromising circuit integrity. The solution also included a custom stainless-steel power distribution/hub arrangement to facilitate flexible in-line connections while maintaining reliability and operability in Atlantic seawater conditions. The work was reported as completed in October 2018, supporting Floatgen’s operational electrical infrastructure. Wenex Equipements highlighted the importance of the SEM-REV project for Franco-Scottish collaboration and positioned the engagement as a reference for future joint delivery of subsea interconnection and cable-interface support solutions.
