Offshore construction for Floatgen commenced with the installation of its innovative mooring system at the SEM-REV test site off Le Croisic, where six large-dimension nylon mooring lines were assembled and installed on the site to secure the floating foundation of France’s first offshore wind turbine. The completed mooring installation marked a crucial step in preparing the SEM-REV site for towing in and hooking up the Floatgen unit to the anchoring system and export cable.
