EolMed was awarded the AOAF floating offshore wind pilot tender on 3 November 2016, securing the feed-in tariff revenue contract under the French state's 2015-2016 floating wind pilot programme (Appel à Projets Annoncé Flottant). The award covered the 30 MW Gruissan pilot (3 × ~10 MW turbines) led by the Qair / BW Ideol consortium, with a guaranteed tariff over 20 years to support deployment of the BW Ideol "Damping Pool" semi-submersible floater technology at commercial scale. The award is the foundational commercial milestone of the project preceding all subsequent permitting, FID and construction.
