Offshore construction at the EolMed floating wind farm effectively started in 2023 when Bourbon Subsea Services installed a floating electrical hub (FEH) at the project site off Port-La Nouvelle and Gruissan, following the beginning of floating foundation construction in Port-La Nouvelle earlier that spring. The FEH installation marked the first major offshore installation activity for the 30 MW pilot project, enabling later connection of the floating turbines and inter-array cables to the French transmission grid.
