On 14 August 2025, the Polish environmental authorities issued a ruling related to the cross-border environmental impact assessment (EIA) and scoping for the Energa MFW 2 offshore wind farm in area 14.E.2. Earlier, on 27 June 2025, Energa MFW 2 Sp. z o.o. had applied for a decision on environmental conditions for the 896 MW project and simultaneously requested determination of the scope of the EIA report. The ruling confirms that the planned offshore wind farm, located about 34 km off the coast near Rewal and Trzebiatów in the Polish exclusive economic zone and covering an area of 91.8 km², is classified as a project that may always have a significant impact on the environment under the 2019 Regulation on projects that may have a significant impact on the environment. It also confirms that the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Szczecin is the competent authority to issue the environmental conditions decision. This administrative step frames the subsequent environmental assessment, including cross-border aspects, for Energa MFW 2.
