Vestas was selected as the wind turbine supplier for the Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm (formerly Q10), located around 23 km off the Dutch coast near Noordwijk and Zandvoort. Under this engagement, Vestas supplied 43 offshore wind turbines of the V112 type for the project, contributing to the wind farm’s total installed capacity of 129 MW. The turbines installed at Luchterduinen were described as benefiting from a large swept area and design features intended to support high productivity, serviceability and reliability, and therefore high availability. In addition to turbine supply, Vestas was also described as providing installation and commissioning of the 43 V112-3.0 MW turbines. The turbines were pre-assembled and pre-commissioned onshore at Vestas’ preassembly facility at the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark, before being transported offshore for installation at the project site. The overall turbine package referenced for the project further included a long-term service and maintenance agreement covering the operating phase, supporting the ongoing operation of the turbine fleet after the wind farm entered service in 2015.
