Van Oord was selected by Eneco as a key contractor for the development of the Eneco Luchterduinen offshore wind farm (formerly Q10), located around 23 kilometres off the coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Eneco stated that Van Oord would be responsible for the wind farm’s foundations and electrical infrastructure, including the offshore transformer station. Van Oord was also described in project reporting as the main contractor for the project and was referred to as the EPC contractor in relation to subcontracted export cable installation works. Within this overall construction scope, Van Oord also supplied the installation vessel that was to be used to install the project’s 43 Vestas V112 wind turbines. This positioned Van Oord as a central delivery party during the build phase, coordinating offshore logistics and installation activities across key work packages. Eneco’s announcement framed Van Oord as a preferred supplier during the contractor selection process, with detailed design activities progressing in collaboration ahead of final contracting. The role therefore covered major construction execution responsibilities on the project, spanning offshore foundation and substation delivery and turbine installation support.
