French TSO RTE carried out the first major offshore cable works for EFGL by installing the project’s submarine export cable in the Mediterranean, pulling it from the cable‑laying vessel Viking Neptun through the pre-installed landfall duct into the junction chamber at Le Barcarès and laying around 18 km of cable on and into the seabed. This marks the start of EFGL’s offshore cable installation campaign to connect the three 10 MW floating turbines to shore, with final connection to the head turbine to follow by 2025.
