The Eastern Green Link 5 cultural heritage walkover surveys, carried out by specialist consultant WSP, completed on 27 February 2026. The three-day campaign (25-27 February 2026) inspected areas within and around the proposed onshore cable route options on land in Aberdeenshire to identify archaeological and historic features for inclusion in the Environmental Impact Assessment. Outputs from the surveys will inform onshore cable route refinement and contribute to the environmental constraints mapping ahead of the Stage 2 statutory consultation planned for 2026. Completion was conditional on land access and weather, both of which permitted the planned schedule.
