two 225 kV HVAC export-cable links — 32 km submarine + 38 km onshore underground; supply by Hellenic Cables
Hellenic Cables — in consortium with Asso.subsea — was awarded a turnkey contract by RTE for the export cables of the Dunkerque offshore wind farm. Per Mer et Marine: "Hellenic Cables sera en charge de la fourniture de 32 km de câbles sous-marins et de 38 km de câbles souterrains produits respectivement à Corinthe et Thiva, en Grèce" — Hellenic Cables is responsible for design, manufacture and delivery of approximately 32 km of 225 kV HVAC submarine export cables (manufactured at Corinth, Greece) and 38 km of 225 kV underground onshore cables (manufactured at Thiva, Greece), plus accessories, on-site jointing/termination/testing and commissioning. Asso.subsea handles transport, laying and protection of the submarine sections under the same consortium contract (separate role). The cable system links the offshore substation to the onshore substation near Mardyck (Grand Port Maritime de Dunkerque) for the 600 MW / ~46-turbine wind farm.
