In December 2024, French transmission system operator RTE signed an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract worth around EUR 320 million with Chantiers de l’Atlantique for the offshore substation of the 600 MW Dunkerque offshore wind farm. Under the contract, Chantiers de l’Atlantique will design, construct, assemble and install the HVAC offshore substation, with the topside to be assembled in Saint-Nazaire and the foundation manufactured in Fos-sur-Mer, providing the key grid connection hub for the project.
