On 24 December 2024, the Préfecture du Nord granted the environmental authorisation for the electrical connection of the Dunkirk offshore wind farm after the public inquiry held from 8 April to 1 June 2024 and a favourable opinion from the commission of inquiry. RTE reported in March 2025 that this environmental permit legally enables construction of the grid connection works for the project.
