In September 2024, RVO commissioned Fraunhofer IWES, together with Tetra Tech RPS Energy and Geowynd, to develop an Integrated Ground Model (IGM) and Geotechnical Interpretative Report for the entire 565 km^2 Doordewind Wind Farm Zone, covering both Site I and Site II, and to plan subsequent offshore geotechnical investigations. The IGM synthesises geophysical and geotechnical datasets into a coherent constraints model used to de-risk cable routing, layout and foundation design for future bidders. The contract was reported on 30 September 2024; mapping deliverables are produced progressively and feed into the RVO permit-tender data package.
