Offshore construction for the 448 MW Courseulles-sur-Mer (Calvados) wind farm commenced on 20 February 2025 with the installation of the first monopile foundation by Saipem's heavy-lift vessel Saipem 7000. The developer (Éoliennes Offshore du Calvados / EDF Renewables consortium) marked the date on its planning page as "Pose de la première fondation". This is the first wind-farm-scope offshore works event — preceding marine activity in 2022 was RTE-scope grid-connection work (225 kV export cable lay and OSS jacket pre-positioning) and lives on the linked Calvados Export project. The foundation campaign continued through 2025-2026; by 7 April 2026 the developer reported 15 of 64 monopiles installed before Saipem 7000 temporarily departed for another contract, with Bold Tern (Fred Olsen Windcarrier, Saipem-chartered) reinforcing the campaign.
