In April 2012, Éolien Maritime France (a consortium of EDF EN France and DONG Energy) received authorisation from the French state to exploit an offshore wind farm on the public maritime domain off Courseulles‑sur‑Mer. This exploitation authorisation followed EMF’s selection as winner of the French government’s first offshore wind tender, which awarded development rights for the Courseulles‑sur‑Mer (Calvados) site alongside other Round 1 projects.
