SHOM carried out offshore geophysical survey work to build baseline knowledge for the Centre Manche 2 offshore wind area in the English Channel (Manche – Mer du Nord façade). The project timeline for the zone’s “Études de connaissance” lists a “Campagne bathymétrique et sédimentologique du SHOM” conducted from March to October 2021, indicating SHOM’s responsibility for mapping seabed bathymetry and characterising seabed features and sediments at a site-investigation stage. This bathymetric/sedimentological campaign supported the production of multiple hydrographic and oceanographic “état de connaissance initiale” syntheses published for the Centre-Manche zone, including dedicated reports on bathymetry and sedimentology (as well as related hydrographic topics such as hydrology and anthropogenic elements). These deliverables form part of the early technical evidence base used to inform subsequent offshore wind planning, survey sequencing, and environmental and engineering studies for Centre Manche 2. The work took place during the project’s development phase, ahead of later surveys referenced on the same page (e.g., subsequent geophysical, UXO, and geotechnical campaigns). No contracting party, contract value, or detailed technical specification (e.g., sensors or line-kilometres) was stated on the cited page.
