Marine environmental baseline measurement campaigns for the Centre Manche area, relevant to the Centre Manche 2 project, were carried out from May 2022 through June 2024. These at‑sea campaigns aimed to characterise the initial state of the environment prior to offshore wind farm development. Work included sampling to assess water and sediment quality, surveys of benthic habitats, scientific fishing activities to study fish communities, underwater noise recordings, and visual and vessel-based observations of seabirds and marine mammals. Telemetry tracking of birds was also undertaken. The completion of this multi‑parameter survey programme by June 2024 provided a comprehensive dataset to inform impact assessment and project design.
