Uxo Survey Complete

As part of the Centre Manche 1 offshore wind project’s wider “études de connaissance” (knowledge studies), a dedicated unexploded ordnance (UXO) survey campaign was carried out and completed in December 2021. Listed in the project timeline as a “Campagne munitions non explosées (UXO)” under the 2020–2024 knowledge studies, this campaign focused on investigating the seabed within the planned development area off the Normandy coast to identify potential historical munitions and UXO risks. The results of this UXO campaign provide essential input for later detailed design and construction planning by helping to locate and characterise hazardous objects that may need to be avoided or cleared before offshore works can proceed.
