For the Centre Manche 1 offshore wind project, baseline environmental (“état initial de l'environnement”) sea measurement campaigns are scheduled to run from May 2022 until June 2024, with completion by June 2024. These offshore campaigns cover a broad range of environmental parameters, including sampling for water and sediment quality, characterization of benthic habitats, scientific fisheries surveys, underwater noise recording, as well as visual and vessel-based observations of seabirds and marine mammals. They also include telemetry tracking of birds. The combined results will form the initial environmental state for the project area and inform subsequent impact assessments and permitting. The June 2024 end date marks the planned conclusion of this multi-year environmental survey programme.
