As part of the early site investigations for the Centre Manche 1 offshore wind project, the French hydrographic and oceanographic service SHOM carried out a dedicated bathymetric and sedimentological campaign on the project area. The official French state offshore wind portal specifies that this SHOM campaign ran from March to October 2021, indicating that geophysical and bathymetric survey activities for Centre Manche 1 commenced in March 2021. The work focused on mapping seabed depths and sediment characteristics to build the initial hydrographic and geological understanding required for later design and permitting of the fixed-bottom wind farm and associated infrastructure in the Centre Manche zone.
