TenneT supported the grid connection for the Borssele Wind Farm Site V (Borssele V) offshore wind innovation site in the Netherlands. The project exported power from two offshore wind turbines and relied on the Dutch offshore transmission system operated by TenneT. As part of the project’s delivery and commissioning, TenneT was referenced as the key party responsible for the grid-connection interface, enabling the wind farm’s electricity to be transmitted into the onshore high-voltage network. This role covered the coordination and provision of the offshore grid connection used by Borssele V, which in this area is based on TenneT’s offshore platform and connection concept for the Borssele wind energy zone. TenneT’s involvement was highlighted alongside the project’s main construction partners during the finalisation of the construction phase and the subsequent full commissioning milestone. The grid-connection support formed a critical dependency for bringing the innovation site into operational service and for enabling end customers to purchase electricity generated by the project.
