Investri Offshore served as project director for the Borssele V offshore wind innovation/test site (the Borssele innovation site) as part of the Two Towers consortium. In this role, Investri Offshore provided project leadership and oversight to support delivery of the consortium’s bid and execution approach for the demonstration project located in the Borssele wind energy zone off the Dutch coast. The project director role covered overall project management responsibilities, including coordinating stakeholders and workstreams associated with implementing the site’s innovation features around two MHI Vestas V164-9.5MW turbines. These innovations included deploying a slip-joint clamp connection between the monopile and transition piece, applying an aluminium-based protective coating to improve durability and reduce maintenance requirements, and implementing nature-inclusive measures such as placing rocks to mitigate seabed sediment disturbance and creating oyster-bed habitats intended to reduce erosion and support reef development. The appointment was described by the consortium in the context of Two Towers winning the tender for the Borssele V test site, with Investri Offshore’s project director function complementing other consortium members’ responsibilities for delivery and project management.
