On 12 December 2016, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs announced that the Blauwwind II c.v. consortium had won the Borssele III & IV tender, securing both the project permits and an SDE+ revenue support regime with a winning bid of 5.45 eurocents per kilowatt hour and an expected total subsidy requirement of approximately €0.3 billion, far below the earlier estimate of €5 billion.
