Sif was selected by Ørsted as a foundation supplier for the 752 MW Borssele 1+2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The award covered the manufacturing and delivery of half of the project’s monopile foundations for the Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines. Based on the project’s total of 94 monopile foundations, this corresponds to 47 monopiles supplied by Sif. The contract was announced as part of Ørsted’s foundation procurement for Borssele 1+2, with Ørsted highlighting Sif as an experienced Dutch supplier and noting that this was their first collaboration with Sif. Sif referenced its new assembly facility and deep-sea quay at Maasvlakte II (Port of Rotterdam) as enabling efficient production and delivery of the monopile foundations for the project located off the Dutch coast. This role related to the construction phase of the wind farm and specifically to foundation fabrication (monopile primary structures), rather than transition piece supply or installation services.
