Siemens Convergence Creators was selected by Ørsted under an eight-year frame agreement to supply and maintain SCADA networks and telecommunication systems, with the first order placed for the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm (752 MW) in the Netherlands. The scope covered professional mobile communication systems and associated project delivery activities to support safe and reliable wind farm operations. Under the framework, Siemens Convergence Creators’ responsibilities included design, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance support for the SCADA network and telecoms package. These systems underpin operational communications and control capabilities across offshore wind farm assets, enabling data acquisition, supervision, and critical communications required during construction completion and subsequent operations. The contract was reported in December 2017, ahead of the project’s planned commissioning by the end of 2020. The agreement positioned Siemens Convergence Creators as a long-term digital systems supplier for Ørsted’s offshore wind portfolio, starting with Borssele 1 & 2, and included ongoing supply and service obligations over the duration of the frame agreement.
