Joulz Energy Solutions was subcontracted by HSM Offshore to perform systems integration for the high-voltage (HV) electrical components on TenneT’s Borssele Alpha offshore transformer platform. Borssele Alpha is the offshore HVAC grid connection platform serving the Borssele Sites I & II offshore wind farms and exporting power to the onshore substation near Borssele. The scope described in the source positioned Joulz as the integrator of the HV component systems on the offshore platform, supporting the assembly of an operational offshore substation solution by coordinating the HV equipment packages and their interfaces within the overall platform design. This type of work typically includes ensuring the integrated functionality of HV assets (such as switchgear, transformers, protection and auxiliary systems), documentation alignment across suppliers, and supporting readiness for commissioning activities, even where individual major components are supplied under separate framework agreements. This engagement is captured as engineering consultancy and OSS design support because it relates to detailed integration engineering and delivery assurance for the offshore substation infrastructure that underpins the grid connection for the Borssele 1 & 2 project.
