Iv-Oil and Gas was subcontracted by HSM Offshore to support engineering and delivery of the Borssele Alpha offshore transformer platform for TenneT’s offshore grid connection in the Netherlands. The Borssele Alpha platform is the offshore HVAC substation that provides the grid connection for the Borssele Sites I & II wind farms, stepping the wind farm collection voltage up for export to the onshore substation at Borssele. Under HSM Offshore’s contract, Iv-Oil and Gas was responsible for designing the offshore platform and supporting the integrated delivery of key packages. The scope described in the source included handling procurements and integrating the high-voltage (HV) components supplied by TenneT together with balance-of-plant materials, coordinating interfaces between major equipment and the overall topside/platform design. This role fits within engineering consultancy and offshore substation (OSS) design activities, contributing to the detailed design and integration work required to realise the offshore grid assets that enable export of power from Borssele 1 & 2 to the Dutch transmission system.
