EEW OSB was selected by Ørsted as a foundation fabricator for the Borssele 1+2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. Under this award, EEW OSB was to manufacture and deliver part of the project’s transition piece package for the monopile foundations supporting the Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines. Ørsted announced that EEW OSB, together with Danish fabricator Bladt Industries, would deliver 35 transition pieces for the 752 MW project. The announcement formed part of Ørsted’s procurement of the main foundation supply chain for Borssele 1+2, covering the steel structures that interface between the monopile and the wind turbine tower. The work related to fabrication and delivery of transition pieces and was reported as a construction-phase supply contract. The source also noted that additional transition pieces were expected to be contracted later in the year, indicating that the transition piece scope was split across multiple suppliers. This role entry records EEW OSB’s stated scope for the transition piece portion of the monopile foundations for Borssele 1+2, as publicly announced by Ørsted.
