In July 2017, DONG Energy (now Ørsted) awarded Siemens Gamesa a contract to supply 94 offshore direct-drive 8 MW turbines for the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farms located about 22 km off the coast of Zeeland, giving the project a total planned capacity of 752 MW.
