On 5 July 2016, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) awarded the SDE+ subsidy and permits for Borssele Wind Farm Sites I & II to Ørsted Borssele 1 B.V., granting the company the right to build the 752 MW Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm with 94 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines and securing long-term revenue support based on its breakthrough bid price of about €72.7/MWh (7.27 eurocents/kWh).
