Major Outage

On 27 October 2021, Ørsted reported that one of the Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines at the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm suffered a malfunction that led to a fire in the nacelle, causing that unit and two directly connected turbines to be taken out of operation while the rest of the 94‑turbine, 752 MW wind farm continued generating power. No personnel were present at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported, with Siemens Gamesa and Ørsted investigating the cause of the failure.
