Ocean Winds' own about-the-project page now lists 2026 (without a sub-year window) as the year onshore construction works begin, covering the onshore substation and grid connection infrastructure near Choczewo. Slip aligns site-preparation projection with the developer-stated 2026 onshore start window at year precision, pending a sub-year commitment from the developer or P&Q. --- Following the positive environmental decision for BC-Wind’s transmission infrastructure, Ocean Winds scheduled the start of initial onshore works for the second half of 2025. These early activities relate to the approximately 8 km onshore section of the export cable linking the Baltic Sea landfall in Choczewo municipality to the new 400 kV substation. The connection will be built using horizontal directional drilling (HDD), installing cables underground without disturbing the shoreline or beach, and will link into Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne’s 400 kV Choczewo substation. The announcement frames these as the first onshore construction works, representing preparatory enabling works ahead of the main civil construction campaign.
