SPIE Wind Connect, the specialist high-voltage wind power business unit of SPIE Global Services Energy, has been subcontracted by Seaway7 to deliver termination and high-voltage testing of the 66 kV inter-array cable systems for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms in the Polish exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea. Seaway7 holds the wider EPCI contract awarded in 2023 by Equinor and Polenergia for approximately 200 km of 66 kV inter-array cables across the two farms; SPIE Wind Connect's scope sits inside that EPCI, covering offshore termination, fibre-optic splicing and HV testing of the cables linking the wind turbine generators to the offshore substations. For Bałtyk 2 this represents termination work on 50 inter-array cables across ten strings of five Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD turbines; outermost turbines are connected with 400 mm² cables, while 1000 mm² cables carry the full string output to the offshore substation. The main offshore campaign is scheduled to begin toward the end of the second quarter of 2026, sequenced after monopile and transition-piece installation by Heerema's heavy-lift vessel Thialf.
