Installation of foundations for the two offshore substations serving Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 is planned to start in spring 2026. Equinor and Polenergia have contracted Heerema Marine Contractors to transport and install 100 monopiles, transition pieces and selected offshore substation components, using the heavy-lift vessel Thialf. Project information further clarifies that all foundations, including jackets for the substations, are to be installed during 2026. This milestone marks the start of placing the offshore substation support structures on the seabed at the Bałtyk 2 site, a prerequisite for later topside installation and electrical commissioning.
