Commissioning of the Bałtyk 2 dedicated offshore substation is projected to be completed in 2027, in time to enable first power delivery to the Polish grid in the same year. The OSS topside installation programme runs across two campaigns spanning 2026 and 2027 (Heerema heavy-lift vessel Thialf), with electrical outfitting, testing and energisation following the second-campaign topside lift. As of April 2026 the topside (51 × 38 × 43 m, ~3,700 tonnes) had been rolled out of Smulders' Vlissingen yard and was undergoing outfitting; the jacket is fabricated at Smulders' Newcastle facility. With first power planned for 2027 and full commercial operation in 2028, OSS commissioning sits on the critical path within 2027 — the date is inferred from the developer's stated first-power year-end target rather than a standalone OSS commissioning announcement.
