On 2 October 2023, Equinor and Polenergia were reported to have engaged Geoquip Marine to carry out seabed investigations for the 1,560 MW Bałtyk 1 offshore wind farm in the Polish Baltic Sea. The contractor is performing the campaign using the survey vessel Dina Polaris, collecting geological data needed to understand seabed conditions at the planned turbine and offshore substation locations. According to the developers, this geotechnical campaign is a key preparatory step for Bałtyk 1’s participation in Poland’s planned 2025 Contract for Difference (CfD) auction, as it will inform the feasibility study and preliminary layout design of turbines and offshore power infrastructure.
