In an interview published on 13 January 2026, PGE Baltica’s CEO stated that in 2026 the company will commence contracting processes for key technological components and construction‑phase services for the Baltica 9+ development, which combines Baltica 9 and the neighbouring FEW Baltic II project with a total capacity of about 1.3 GW. Following the project’s success in Poland’s first offshore wind auction, this planned activity marks the transition from early development and survey work towards large‑scale procurement for turbines, foundations, cables and construction services. PGE Baltica emphasised that a core objective is to award as many of these contracts as possible to Polish companies, using the Baltica 9+ pipeline to build domestic industrial capability and achieve economies of scale on the Słupsk Bank. The start of these contracting processes is targeted during 2026, ahead of subsequent final investment and construction decisions.
