By mid-December 2025, PGE confirms that the 975 MW Baltica 9 offshore wind farm has obtained preliminary grid connection conditions, a key regulatory milestone for connecting the project to the Polish transmission system. The project is located in basin 44.E.1 on the western Słupsk Bank, around 48 kilometres from the coast, and is part of the wider Baltica 9+ cluster that will total about 1.3 GW when combined with the neighbouring FEW Baltic II project. Securing preliminary connection conditions indicates that the transmission operator has defined the basic technical and capacity parameters for Baltica 9’s future grid connection, reducing regulatory uncertainty and enabling further design, permitting and commercial work ahead of construction and the planned 2032 commissioning. This grid step sits alongside other preparatory activities such as completion of 2D UHRS geophysical surveys and a preliminary geotechnical campaign.
