Resource Assessment

In February 2020, PGE Baltica completed a two‑year offshore wind resource measurement campaign in the Baltic Sea to support development of its offshore programme, including the Baltica 3 phase of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. The study measured the speed of air masses over the sea using a floating LiDAR (laser-based) device. The resulting dataset provided high‑quality confirmation of suitable wind conditions needed for project execution. Conducted over a multi‑year period, this resource assessment underpins energy yield calculations and feasibility work for Baltica 3 and its sister project Baltica 2, helping to de‑risk subsequent design, permitting, and investment decisions for the combined up‑to‑2.5 GW development.
