DELAYED +3yr (May 2026): Original event_date 2026-12-31 (sourced Oct 2022) referenced Baltica 3 delivering first power in 2026 under the original plan where Baltica 3 was the lead phase of the Baltica 2+3 development. That plan has been reversed since the Feb 2025 FID announcement on Baltica 2 (which first-powers in 2027). Baltica 3 is now the later phase 'to be commissioned by 2030' per PGE Baltica's official project page. Realistic Baltica 3 first power therefore lands in 2029 (after Baltica 2 first power 2027, before the Baltica 3 COD-by-2030 target). Year precision, medium likelihood. --- According to the 2022 permitting update for the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm’s grid connection infrastructure, the first stage of the project is Baltica 3, with a planned capacity of up to about 1,045.5 MW. The developers PGE and Ørsted state that, under the project schedule, this Baltica 3 phase is expected to deliver its first electricity to the Polish transmission grid in 2026. This marks the planned initial energisation and export of power from Baltica 3 ahead of full commercial operation, with the subsequent Baltica 2 phase scheduled to begin production in 2027.
