In January 2020, the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk (Regionalny Dyrektor Ochrony Środowiska w Gdańsku) issued the environmental decision (Decyzja o środowiskowych uwarunkowaniach, DŚU) for the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 offshore wind farms, with a combined capacity of up to 2.5 GW. The DŚU approves the environmental conditions for developing both phases of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm in the Polish Baltic Sea and is a prerequisite for subsequent permits such as building consents. This decision confirms that the environmental impact assessment for the farms was accepted and allows PGE and Ørsted, as the project partners, to continue progressing the design and permitting of Baltica 3 alongside Baltica 2.
