System testing activities for Baltica 2’s onshore grid infrastructure are scheduled to begin in 2026. After extensive seabed preparation and cable corridor works, Ørsted and PGE plan to start testing the onshore substation that will receive power from the offshore wind farm and feed it into the Polish grid in the Choczewo municipality. According to the project update, testing of the onshore substation is due to commence in 2026, ahead of offshore export cable installation, offshore substation installation and wind turbine erection, ensuring that the onshore grid interface is ready when offshore generation assets are energised.
